A long-term home for well-run businesses

Acquisitions are a central part of Volati’s growth strategy. We acquire well-managed companies with strong market positions and develop them over the long term.

Our focus is on developing existing platforms. Opportunities for broader offerings, increased scale and stronger market positions are created through add-on acquisitions of complementary businesses.

We also evaluate new platform investments. These typically involve well-established Nordic companies that are market leaders in their niche and with good growth potential through continued development and add-on acquisitions.

Continuity is an important part of our acquisitions for employees, customers, and other long-term business relationships.

Why sell to Volati

Volati acquires companies with the potential to grow and thrive as independent businesses within the Group. Our approach is to build on what already works, supporting continued development without changing the core of the business or its operating procedures.

We combine our acquisition experience with a decentralised structure, where decisions are made close to the business and responsibility for continued development remains with the companies and their existing management teams.

In each acquisition, we aim to preserve the company’s identity and entrepreneurial spirit, while providing additional structure, resources and financial capacity where necessary.

This means:

Reliable and predictable transactions

We prioritise transactions that we intend to complete. Key decisions are usually made before due diligence, which reduces the risk of changes in later stages.

Experience and continuity

We have over 20 years' experience in acquiring and developing companies across various industries, focusing on long-term ownership.

Efficient execution

The process is pragmatic and largely managed internally. This enables shorter lead times and a more streamlined process with fewer iterations.

Adapted to each situation

Every company is unique. The structure, timeline and process are adapted to the specific situation.

Acquisition focus

The focus is on add-on acquisitions within existing platforms. These typically involve well-established European companies with clear market positions and a strong fit within one of Volati’s existing businesses.

New platform acquisitions are evaluated selectively and are usually based on Nordic companies. These are usually companies with strong profitability and cash flows, a proven business model, and a leading position within a defined industrial niche. They should also offer opportunities for continued growth through development and add-on acquisitions.
